The Land of Oz is based on the 1939 classic, The Wizard of Oz. The land would include four areas, the Emerald City, Munchkinland, the Yellow Brick Road, and the Haunted Forest. The area would include two attractions and an array of different shops, dining, and character opportunities. There are multiple areas that could be used for expansion depending on how this land would fit into a new or preexisting theme park. The Wizard of Oz is an American classic that captures a certain type of magic few things do today. It would appeal to all ages and allow everyone to follow the yellow brick road.
Here guests find themselves finally at the Emerald City. The City is home to characters, dining, and shopping. But most importantly the Great Oz himself.
If you dare step into the Haunted Forest where you’ll get the chance to ride, Witch’s Castle Escape. A high tech suspended dark ride that flies you through the castle of the Wicked Witch. But you won’t be able to escape on your own.
The colorful wonder of Munchkinland lures guests as they can experience the location of where Dorothy first entered Oz. In Munchkinland guests can experience Munchkinland Riverboats, a cute family friendly boat ride through the Munchkin country side, where you’ll learn about their daily lives. But in a turn of events your boat wanders into the Munchkin Mines where you’ll encounter a famous villain from Baum’s books, the Nome King.
I took my plans and built the land 1:1 in Minecraft. A bizarre technique but the quickest to test my sightlines and immersion.
